Sixth Gen Roofing is a family-run business rooted in six generations of central Texas heritage, we specialize in expert roof inspections and roof hail damage repair in central Texas. In addition to hail damage repair, we protect your home and provide peace of mind.

When hail storms and high winds hit, first, check for ground level clues such as dented gutters, cracked window screens, dinged AC units and dented siding. Hail damage to the roof may not be visible from the ground and, if left untreated, can lead to more costly repairs. Our roof inspectors conduct a forensic-level inspection with photo documentation and insurance claim support from start to finish.

As a local company in central Texas, we understand hailstorms and how minor granule loss can turn into an active leak and major structural damage, if not addressed quickly. For roof insurance claims, we know the process and many of the local adjusters and provide expert claim assistance.

Roof Hail Damage FAQs

How do I know if my roof has hail damage?

Most hail damage is not visible from the ground. Dents, bruising, granule loss and lifted shingles are rarely visible from the street, however, very capable of causing water leaks in the future. Our free roof inspection includes close-up photo documentation so you can see the visible damage and avoid further damage and costly repairs.

Should I get my roof inspected even if there are no leaks?

Yes, hail damage does not always cause immediate leaks, but it can weaken the roof leading to leaks in the future. Our inspections are free and, at a minimum, you gain peace of mind or catch the damage early before it becomes a big problem in the future.

How soon should I get my roof inspected after a hail storm?

As soon as possible. Most insurance companies require claims to be filed within a specific timeframe, such as 6 to 12 months. The sooner an insurance claim is filed, the stronger it is considered. We recommend scheduling a free roof inspection immediately after a major hailstorm to preserve claim eligibility.

Will my insurance cover hail damage repairs?

Most homeowner policies cover hail damage and you should only pay the deductible on the policy. This is where we help, by meeting with the insurance adjuster, getting on the roof together and pointing out specific damage that is covered. We follow up with documented reports including photographs to ensure your coverage reflects the full scope of work required.

Can you help with the insurance claim process?

Yes, from inspection to final repair, we can get involved at any point during the insurance claim process. If you have already filed a claim, we will work with your insurance adjuster to make sure nothing is missed and the claim is processed to the fullest extent.

Will it affect my insurance coverage if I have an older roof?

Yes, depending on the policy, insurance companies may reduce coverage if the roof is over 15–years old.

Why should I choose a local roofing company like Sixth Gen Roofing?

We are locally owned and will be here to support your roofing needs long after the storm passes and there for the next storm. We have worked with all insurance carriers, know many of them by first name and have developed a working relationship based on trust.
